Coordinated Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Cardiology Care
The MFM-Cardiology Collaborative Clinic is a collaborative, monthly outpatient clinic led by the Divisions of MFM and Cardiology at UNMC. It is designed for patients with cardiovascular conditions that may cause pregnancy to be at a higher risk. Through coordinated consultation with MFM and Cardiology providers, patients will receive multi-disciplinary guidance and support before, during and after pregnancy.

Indications for Referral
Patients that are considering pregnancy, or are pregnant, with an underlying cardiovascular condition which includes (but not limited to):- Hypertension
- Hyperlipidemia
- Valvular disorder
- Dysrhythmias
- Coronary artery disease
- Heart failure

- Joint MFM/Cardiology visits allow both teams to provide subspecialty collaborative counseling to work with families to reduce the risk of pregnancy complications
- Advanced ultrasound imaging and advanced cardiac testing coordinated with joint provider visits consolidate time commitments of families to a single afternoon appointment
- Facilitate transition to ongoing adult cardiology care once pregnancy care is completed
- Opportunities to participate in ongoing research
