Asia Pacific Rim Development Program

The UNMC MD-PhD Scholars Program has a partnership with the Joint MD/PhD Degree-Seeking Program within the Asia Pacific Rim Development Program (APRDP). Students in the APRDP Joint MD/PhD Degree-Seeking Program complete their first two years of medical school at either Shandong University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, or Tongji University in China and then come to UNMC to pursue their PhD degree in the College of Medicine, Pharmacy, or Public Health. They then return to China to complete their remaining two years of medical school and receive their MD degree.

While at UNMC, students from the APRDP Joint MD/PhD Degree-Seeking Program are invited to all events held by the UNMC MD-PhD Scholars Program, such as biweekly luncheons and the annual retreat, and encouraged to join the vibrant UNMC MD-PhD Scholars community.
