Continuing Medical Education

The UNMC Department of Dermatology is working to create several avenues for continuing medical education (CME) for faculty, resident physicians, students, community dermatologists, and primary care providers across Nebraska.

Monthly Grand Rounds

The Department of Dermatology hosts monthly Grand Rounds at UNMC/Nebraska Medicine to evaluate and review patients with disorders of the skin that are rare, difficult to diagnose, or challenging to manage. This conference is an integral part of the clinical and educational missions of the department and is open to community physicians, medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty.

We are pleased to announce that our Grand Rounds this year will be virtual. We will bring a wide range of experts from around the country to our Nebraska dermatology community through Zoom. Please "save the date" for every fourth Tuesday evening from September through June. The virtual case discussions will be from 6-7 p.m., and the lecture will be from 7-8 p.m. for 2 CME hours.

Melanoma and Skin Cancer Tumor Boards

The UNMC Department of Dermatology participates in several multidisciplinary tumor boards at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center:

  • Multidisciplinary Melanoma and Sarcoma Tumor Board
  • Multidisciplinary Cutaneous Head and Neck Cancer Tumor Board
  • Multidisciplinary Lymphoma Tumor Board

Specialty Conferences

The Department of Dermatology participates in multiple CME conferences at UNMC, Nebraska Medicine, and around the region to help provide continuing education for the community. Our conferences are intended for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, residents, fellows, and students involved in diagnosing and treating patients with non-melanoma skin cancer.
