
Dr. Jennifer Fernandez PGY-2 Nebraska Dermatology Resident Physician
Jennifer Fernandez, MD, RD, received her Nutrition and Food Studies undergraduate degree from New York University. She subsequently completed her dietetic internship at Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Dr. Fernandez then returned to New York and worked as an inpatient Registered Dietitian (RD) for Mt. Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital, specializing in critical care nutrition. In addition, she also worked part-time for a fashion designer. She subsequently transitioned to medicine and attended medical school at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Tucson, where she completed a 1-year clinical research fellowship in dermatology. Jennifer completed her internship in internal medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix.
Dr. Fernandez is interested in international dermatology and is a board member of Equipping Africa, a Kenya-based non-profit organization to improve healthcare in African countries. Other clinical interests include dermato-oncology, wound care, dermatologic manifestations of micronutrient deficiencies, data management and analysis, and improving efficiency in healthcare systems.
Dr. Fernandez played volleyball and water polo at the collegiate level, and her triathlon relay team medaled five times at the New York City Triathlon. She also enjoys cycling, flying trapeze, hiking, and spending time with her husband.

Dr. Kevin Kwan PGY-2 Nebraska Dermatology Resident Physician
Kevin Kwan, MD, received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Kentucky, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He concomitantly completed a year-long research fellowship at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, studying the therapeutic effects of Mindfulness-based practice on adolescents with ADHD.
Following graduation, he transitioned to medicine and attended medical school at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, receiving the Kirk School of Medicine Scholarship. In his third and fourth year of medical school, Dr. Kwan completed a year-long translational research fellowship studying diabetic wound healing and neuronal involvement in inflammatory skin disorders at Northwestern University, Feinberg Medical School, under Dr. Amy S. Paller. Dr. Kwan completed his transitional year internship at Kaweah Delta Medical Center.
