We are working to improve the health of Nebraskans through our nationally recognized programs in clinical care, education and research.

Through these programs, we are enhancing the understanding, treatment and prevention of disease.

We offer support and resources for faculty development, while providing an engaging academic atmosphere for faculty.

Our curriculum offers 14 subspecialty electives and a wide array of rotations in Nebraska, the U.S., and South Africa.


Our researchers are active and well-published. Collectively, we publish more than 350 peer-reviewed journal articles a year.


With 12 divisions, the Department of Internal Medicine constantly pursues all three aspects of the UNMC mission: clinical service, medical education and biomedical research.
