Fred and Eve Simon

Fred and Eve SimonWhen the Simon family began its company, what is now Omaha Steaks, in 1917, their number one priority was customer satisfaction. The happiness of the customers – the people – was their greatest focus and continues to be today, nearly 100 years later.

Fred Simon, who represents the fourth generation of Simons at Omaha Steaks and is executive vice president of the company, and his wife, Eve, practice that same care and concern for others in their personal lives.

The couple has volunteered much time and resources to worthy causes such as the American Lung Association of Nebraska, the Jewish Federation Foundation, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment and the Operations Council of the Salvation Army
Kroc Center.

Most notable of the Simons’ contributions to the Omaha community are those that support the arts. For nearly 40 years, Fred and Eve have been advocates and generous supporters of Opera Omaha. Their generosity has not only helped provide productions of the highest quality possible but also has helped ensure the company’s longevity.

In addition to their support of Opera Omaha, the Simons are major sponsors of other key arts organizations in the community: the Omaha Symphony, Film Streams, Joslyn Art Museum, Omaha Performing Arts Society and the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts.

Eve also has been a member of the Board of Tuesday Musical for many years, serving two terms as president. Fred is currently the chair of the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Public Health campaign committee.
