The UNMC College of Dentistry Dental Hygiene Program is fully accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. Completion of our Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene fulfills educational requirements for eligibility for licensure examinations, which ultimately leads to licensure in all US states and territories. Education
Students are provided hands-on learning experiences in state-of-the-art dental hygiene practice and opportunities in research and professional development. Service learning includes rotations to treat the most vulnerable, underserved patient populations.
The faculty prepare students to foster health promotion and disease prevention within their communities, effectively communicate professional knowledge with patients, colleagues and other health care providers, and uphold the ethical and legal issues that arise in dental hygiene practice.
