Our department is fully committed to the equitable care of all and to creating a safe space in which our patients, faculty, staff and trainees may flourish. We stand together for equality, justice and opportunity.

Our department is working to be a model of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in order to create a culturally sensitive environment for studying, researching and working.

  • Our department undergoes annual unconscious and implicit bias training of all faculty, trainees, and staff.
  • We have an inclusive resident physician recruitment and selection policy including minimizing the use of filters and performing an individual-level review of all NRMP/residency applications.
  • We are committed to creating and maintaining a welcoming and safe environment for all learners, faculty, staff, and patients.
  • We perform annual reviews and have developed metrics to ensure equality in pay, support and opportunity.
  • We have created a culture of inclusion and encourage a balance between professional and personal lives.
