Tapestry of the Arts

Pediatric Tapestry of the Arts is a UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute department of recreational therapy program for children ages 8-17 with developmental disabilities. This programming will expand opportunities for exploring and cultivating participants’ creative interests and skills through a variety of performing and visual art offerings through a generous gift from the Sunny Durham Foundation.

The Tapestry of Arts is a general art program that offers opportunities in dance, acting and theater with the help of guest artists and trained recreation therapists. Being in class with peers also provides time for socialization and connecting with others.

Program details

This is a 6-week program, with 50-minute long classes.
Space in this program is limited and transportation is not provided.
There is a fee for this program and scholarships may be available.

Please note this program is not designed for individuals who need extensive 1-to-1 supervision and/or have severe behavioral problems.
