Kappa Epsilon Pharmacy Fraternity
Kappa Epsilon Pharmacy Fraternity
Beta Chapter
Are you looking for a fun way to get involved, meet fellow college of pharmacy students, and help the community? Then KE is the place for you.Kappa Epsilon is a national fraternity for pharmacy students. That was originally developed to unite the women pharmacy students in the early 1900’s, when few women were in pharmacy school. The University of Nebraska chapter was one of the three original chapters forming the national sorority.
KE’s national project is breast cancer awareness. As a chapter, this is our major philanthropy project including participation in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, American Cancer Society Tell A Friend Tuesday, and an awareness booth and bulletin board. The Race for the Cure is a very fun and worthwhile event. As a chapter, we participate along with our friends and family in the local run/walk. It is always neat to see so many people come together to support the cause of breast cancer research and awareness. Tell a Friend Tuesday was only in its second year this year, but was a great opportunity. Chapter members spent time at all of the local Starbucks and handed out information on breast cancer and passed out gift cards to anyone who called someone and reminded them to get their yearly mammogram.
We also enjoy having a great time together at various social activities. Some of the fun things we have done are Fiesta Night, bowling, comedy club, and Senor Matia’s.
