Vacation and Leave

• Twenty working days paid vacation per academic year; maximum accrual is thirty working days
• Professional leave (5 days/academic year) with pay for approved meetings
• Sick leave - six months accrual after two years of employment

• Low-rate automatic eligibility coverage available.

Other

• Choice of lab coat, personalized surgical scrubs and/or jacket up to $200 provided (1st yr only)
• $300 appropriation per resident to departments for House Officer education/academic year
• $1800 additional educational funds per resident, 2nd & 3rd academic years*
• Paid Nebraska temporary education permit (TEP)
• (Up to) $1500 per academic year (per resident) travel expenses reimbursement, to present at a national conference(s)
• BLS/ACLS renewal, fees & training provided by UNMC
• Fee waived DEA - all UNMC residents/fellows are eligible for fee waived DEA certificate and limited to official University duties only
• Surgical telescopes (3.5 EF) provided by program* (1st yr only)
• Plastic Surgery select text books provided to 1st year incoming resident*
• $10 daily meal allowance
