Virtual Environment Radiotherapy (VERT) Suite

The College of Allied Health Professions manages the Ultrasound Lab and the Virtual Environment Radiotherapy Training Suite.

Ultrasound (Diagnostic Medical Sonography) Lab (Room 6034)

The Ultrasound Lab allows sonography students the opportunity to practice and refine their scanning skills in a safe environment under the supervision of an experienced sonographer. Distance technology allows live instruction to distance sites. For details, contact Cindy Skarda or Kim Michael.

Virtual Environment Radiotherapy (VERT) Suite (Room 6011)

The VERT is a virtual learning environment where radiation therapy students and medical physics residents can practice and learn how to deliver simulated radiation therapy treatments in a safe, non-threatening space. Psychomotor and critical thinking skills can be learned before a student enters clinical practice. For details, contact Perris Scott or Lisa Bartenhagen.

E-Learning (Room 6040)

EZ Studio

The interactive E-Learning Program administers the E-Learning Lab and EZ Studio to provide the campus community with resources needed to create multimedia projects.

E-Learning Lab

The E-Learning Lab includes an audio recording booth and computers with a variety of software including Articulate Storyline 3 and Camtasia. Laptops, a variety of video and still cameras, and other equipment are available for checkout. The lab is staffed with an expert team of instructional designers and technologists. EZ Studio (Room 6030)

The EZStudio is a simplified video recording setup that allows users to easily create videos. You don’t need previous recording experience. The equipment is already set up and configured ... all you need to do is record! The EZStudio includes a video camera, ceiling-mounted lights, microphone, presentation monitor, green screen, teleprompter, and a light board. For more details, see the EZ Studio website.

Faculty Commons (Room 6044)

Faculty Commons

The Faculty Commons is a dedicated space for faculty members where they can test ideas, ask questions, check out resources, become inspired, or focus on writing and teaching projects. Faculty can reserve hoteling offices at the UNMC reservations website.

Faculty Commons is also the location of the Office of Faculty Development, the Interprofessional Academy of Educators, and IT Academic Technologies.

Office of Faculty Development

The Office of Faculty Development offers programming, training, workshops, coaching, and leadership programs to enhance faculty skills in clinical and classroom teaching, research, leadership, and scholarship. Trained staff are available to meet with faculty to discuss teaching-related topics like teaching strategies, course design, and technology options. Interprofessional Academy of Educators

The Interprofessional Academy of Educators (IAE) provides faculty with the support to become effective teachers and educational scholars. The IAE promotes the use of education best practices, fosters and disseminates educational research and innovation, and mentors early-career faculty and preceptors. IT Academic Technologies

IT Academic Technologies has a “drop-in” space for faculty to informally consult, strategize, and design new blended learning experiences with our experts. Consultations are available for a variety of software including, but not limited to, institutional tools of Canvas LMS, Echo 360 ALP, Poll Everywhere, Turnitin, Canvas Catalog, and Zoom. Writing Center @ UNMC (Room 6004)

The Writing Center @ UNMC offers free one-on-one consultations to all UNMC students, faculty, and staff for improvement of writing abilities, critical thinking and productive reading skills, and effective communication.
