2025 NCWHR Symposium
The Inaugural NCWHR Symposium took place on November 13, 2025
The symposium occurred in Omaha, Nebraska on the UNMC campus at the Truhlsen Events Center.
The full-day event brought leading researchers, clinicians, and students together from across the region to explore the latest advancements in women’s health. The symposium featured:
- Expert research presentations
- Interactive poster sessions
- Networking and collaboration opportunities
- A keynote address by Dr. Kerrie L. Moreau, an internationally recognized leader in women’s vascular health
Keynote Speaker
Our keynote speaker was Kerrie L. Moreau, PhD, a Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and a Research Health Scientist at the Eastern Colorado VA Medical Center.
Her research focuses on the mechanisms by which sex hormones and exercise influence vascular aging, menopause-related cardiovascular risk, and overall cardiometabolic health. Dr. Moreau directs the IMAGE (Investigations in Metabolism, Aging, Gender, and Exercise) Research Group and leads the NIH-funded Integrative Physiology of Aging T32 Training Program. She is an internationally recognized leader in women’s vascular health and serves as an Associate Editor for Exercise and Sport Sciences Reviews and the Journal of Applied Physiology.
