2025 NCWHR Symposium

Join Us for the Inaugural NCWHR Symposium - November 13, 2025

Make plans to attend the inaugural Nebraska Center for Women's Health Research Symposium on Thursday, November 13, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. The symposium will be held in Omaha, Nebraska on the UNMC campus at the Truhlsen Events Center. Registration is free and open to all. 

This full-day event will bring together leading researchers, clinicians, and students from across the region to explore the latest advancements in women’s health. The symposium will feature:

  • Expert research presentations
  • Interactive poster sessions
  • Networking and collaboration opportunities
  • A keynote address by Dr. Kerrie L. Moreau, an internationally recognized leader in women’s vascular health

Poster Abstract Guidelines

  • All poster abstracts will be accepted.
  • Word limit: 250 words
  • Submission deadline: Thursday, November 6 at 5:00 p.m.
  • Poster printing: Presenters are responsible for printing their own posters. The maximum size is 36" x 48."
  • Setup: Posters should be hung the morning of the symposium.
  • Abstracts will be included in the symposium booklet.

Keynote Speaker

Our keynote speaker is Kerrie L. Moreau, PhD, a Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and a Research Health Scientist at the Eastern Colorado VA Medical Center.

Her research focuses on the mechanisms by which sex hormones and exercise influence vascular aging, menopause-related cardiovascular risk, and overall cardiometabolic health. Dr. Moreau directs the IMAGE (Investigations in Metabolism, Aging, Gender, and Exercise) Research Group and leads the NIH-funded Integrative Physiology of Aging T32 Training Program. She is an internationally recognized leader in women’s vascular health and serves as an Associate Editor for Exercise and Sport Sciences Reviews and the Journal of Applied Physiology.
