Professional Interests
- Taelyr is a proud Nebraskan. Growing up in Eastern Nebraska, UNMC was a staple in her community. She set out for a career in healthcare at an early age and landed in the field of nursing because of her desire to help others. After years working on the front lines in the hospital with critical patients, Taelyr decided to go back to school to learn how to affect change at a higher level. Her Master’s degree focused on Maternal and Child Health which remains important to her. Her capstone was conducted at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center where she assisted in the implementation and evaluation of a massage therapy program for pediatric palliative care patients and their families. Wishing to broaden her research skills, she has secured multiple research positions within UNMC to advance the health of others. Most recently, Taelyr has pursued a Doctorate degree concentrating on leadership in the healthcare sector. She is focused on advancing women in the workplace and evaluating workforce leadership skills. Her research interests lie in leadership potential, how gender affects leadership, emotional intelligence, and organizational leadership.
