Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant Program
The blood and bone marrow transplant program has been ranked as one of the busiest adult and pediatric stem cell transplant programs in the world. The program averages 150 transplants a year since its inception in 1983.
Conditions treated includ:
- leukemia and lymphoma
- myeloma and other hematologic cancers
- pediatric solid tumors like neuroblastoma or select brain tumors
- immune deficiencies like SCID
- metabolic diseases
- non-malignant hematologic disorders like sickle cell anemia.

This fund supports the development and growth of the UNMC Division of Oncology & Hematology.

Armitage Oncology and Hematology Support Fund
This fund provides general support for UNMC's Division of Oncology and Hematology. The division specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all malignancies (cancers) that occur in adults.

Bone Marrow Transplantation & Related Cancer Research Celebration Fund
This fund supports research in advanced hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and the treatment of transplantation side effects such as graft-versus-host disease.

Hematological Malignancies Fund
This fund supports cutting-edge research in the areas of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, acute and chronic leukemias, myelodysplastic syndromes and multiple myeloma, among other related diseases.
