Faculty Teaching Awards

James Newland Distinguished Pathology Educator

The James Newland Distinguished Pathology Educator Award is awarded to recognize a faculty member within the Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology that has demonstrated outstanding commitment to and excellence in preclinical, clinical, or graduate pathology education locally, regionally, and nationally. Awardees have exemplified the educational spirit and mission of the Department and the institution as a whole.

Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology Outstanding Mentor of Junior Clinical Faculty Award

This award recognizes a senior clinical faculty member that helped a junior colleague's career advancement, research productiveness, clinical care accomplishments, publications, grant proposals, teaching enhancements, and/or family/work-life balance.  An outstanding mentor should have provided guidance in multiple areas; however, it is recognized that a mentor may not have provided guidance in all of these areas. The recipient of this annual award is selected by the residents.
