James Newland Distinguished Pathology Educator

The James Newland Distinguished Pathology Educator Award is awarded to recognize a faculty member within the Department of Pathology and Microbiology that has demonstrated outstanding commitment to and excellence in preclinical, clinical, or graduate pathology education locally, regionally, and nationally. Awardees have exemplified the educational spirit and mission of the Department and the institution as a whole.

Department of Pathology and Microbiology Outstanding Mentor of Junior Clinical Faculty Award

**Nominations for 2017 now being accepted**

This award recognizes a senior clinical faculty member that helped a junior colleague's career advancement, research productiveness, clinical care accomplishments, publications, grant proposals, teaching enhancements, and/or family/work-life balance.  An outstanding mentor should have provided guidance in multiple areas; however, it is recognized that a mentor may not have provided guidance in all of these areas.The recipient of this annual award is selected by the residents.

Department of Pathology and Microbiology Outstanding Mentor of Junior Research Faculty Award

This award recognizes a senior research faculty member that helped a junior colleague's career advancement, research productiveness, publications, assistance with grant proposals, teaching enhancements, and work-life balance.  It is recognized that a mentor may not have provided guidance in all of these areas.

Harold M. Maurer Outstanding Resident Educator Award

The Attending receiving this award should display exceptional involvement in resident education both at 8 AM didactic conference/other conferences and with the resident while on rotation.  

Department of Pathology and Microbiology Outstanding Graduate Student Educator Award

The faculty receiving this award displays exceptional involvement in graduate training regarding education as well as career guidance.  The recipient of this annual award is selected by the department's graduate students..
