Chancellor to hold 'Thank You' event for staff

September 12, 2018

As a thank you for their contributions to UNO and UNMC, Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., is inviting all UNMC and UNO faculty, staff and their families to a free event on Sept. 27.

Guests are invited to attend a free movie on the Ruth and Bill Scott Student Plaza green space at 7:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and snacks as they enjoy a viewing of "Hidden Figures."

"Hidden Figures" tells the incredible story of Katherine Jenkins, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson -- brilliant African-American women working at NASA who served as the brains behind astronaut John Glenn's launch into orbit. The visionary trio crossed all gender and racial lines and inspired generations.

If there is bad weather, a decision will be made by 1 p.m. on whether the event will be postponed or cancelled.
