The group was recognized for its dedication to employees’ families and their unfailing patience with the children. The center is open to the children and grandchildren of student staff, faculty and alumni of UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center and University Medical Associates employees.
“The women who care for the infants, toddlers and preschoolers at the UNMC Child Development Center .form bonds with the children and their parents and ensure that the children are spending their days in a high quality environment that is educational and a lot of fun,” said one nominator. “There really is no greater challenge for working parents than the issue of child care, and the women at the Child Development Center consistently deliver quality care.”
The Child Development Center teachers consist of Keely Rackliffe, Deborah Parnell, Terri Homan, Sarah Chamberlain, Susan Howlett, Devon Mealey, Stacey Saadat, Lana Henry, Shay Johnson, Nicole Kulper, Doris Dortch, Amanda Safranek, Eileen Barnett, Oksana Konuhova, Nadiya Tsabak, Sandy Larsen, Lori Jensen, Dee Ruckman, Virginia Winchell, and Kathy Stejskal.
“Knowing this staff was taking care of my children freed me to go to work and not worry about them,” said another nominator. “Many of the staff members have worked here since the doors opened in 1991 and I think that is a testimonial to their dedication. I believe our Center and the staff who work there are one of the greatest benefits the University offers.”
The T.E.A.M. Award is given out twice a year to groups within Business & Finance whose strong performance or accomplishments exemplify UNMC values and goals. The award has existed since the summer of 2000.
