UNMC physician, Peter Coccia, M.D., in pediatric hematology/oncology, who made the Best Doctor’s in America list, was inadvertently omitted from the initial story that ran in UNMC Today on Jan. 31.
He was one of a total of 280 UNMC physicians, including 151 full and part-time faculty, have been recognized on this year’s list of the Best Doctors in America.
The Best Doctors in America 2007-2008 database contains the names and professional profiles of approximately 35,000 physicians in the United States in more than 40 specialties, or the top 3 percent to 5 percent of specialists in the country.
