During its recent annual spring retreat in Lincoln, the UNMC College of Nursing presented seven awards to faculty and staff for excellence in teaching, research and service.

Linda Sather, Ed.D., assistant professor at the College of Nursing in Omaha, said one of the high points of the academic year is the opportunity for faculty and staff of the four nursing campuses to be together at the retreat.

“A development opportunity is provided and most importantly we celebrate and honor faculty and staff who have excelled,” said Dr. Sather, who was part of the awards committee. “We are proud of the awardees and pleased to recognize them for their extra efforts.”

Hilary Christo, coordinator of student services at the UNMC College of Nursing Kearney Division, also served on the awards committee and said the annual awards are a great culmination of a year of hard work.

“The opportunity to recognize, thank and appreciate fellow colleagues is an added bonus of being a part of UNMC College of Nursing,” Christo said. “Everyone looks forward to the annual recognition.”
