UNMC faculty, staff and students are invited to bring their lunches to the Durham Research Center Auditorium on Thursday to enjoy a preview of the Opera Omaha production of “The Pirates of Penzance.”
Join the Pirate King, the Major General and a more from “The Pirate Band” during the noon presentation, which also will feature select musical numbers from the opera.
A question-and-answer session will follow with members of the cast and Opera Omaha’s executive director, John Wehrle.
Reduced-fare tickets, including $5 tickets in the balcony, still are available to the production, which will be performed on Oct. 15, 17 and 19 at the Orpheum Theater. A pre-performance get-together with light refreshments, exclusive to those with ties to UNMC, will take place before the 2 p.m. performance on Sunday, Oct. 19, beginning at 1:15 p.m.
