What makes a man a legend? In the case of George Washington Carver it wasn’t just peanuts.

The Durham Museum’s newest exhibit is the backdrop for this year’s participant’s night on Aug. 9.

UNMC and TNMC employees and their families will learn about the life and work of George Washington Carver – an extraordinary man, born into slavery, who used his gifts to become a groundbreaking scientist, educator and humanitarian.

The event will be from 5 to 8 p.m. as part of the Time Travelers program, a partnership between UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center and the museum, which is at 801 S. 10th St.
