Bradley Britigan, M.D.
Bradley Britigan, M.D., dean of the College of Medicine, recently joined officials from more than 40 U.S. medical schools and first lady Michelle Obama at a ceremony in Virginia to announce the launch of the Joining Forces initiative, which aims to improve care for veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries caused in combat. In all, more than 130 U.S. medical schools will participate in Joining Forces. Read an Omaha World-Herald story about the initiative.

Howard Liu, M.D., child and adolescent psychiatrist, and Dennis McNeilly, Psy.D., clinical psychologist in the UNMC Department of Psychiatry, received an Outstanding Innovation in Medical Education Poster Award from the Association of Directors of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry. They received the award for their Clinical Simulation Initiative in Psychiatry for Medical Students.

According to the Omaha World-Herald, if you work with Kaleb Michaud, Ph.D., assistant professor of rheumatology, you probably don’t know he has a huge board game collection. Fortunately the World-Herald wrote a feature about the collection on Thursday to fill us all in.
