UNMC College of Nursing to host information sessions on Ph.D. programs

The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing will hold informational sessions over the next three weeks in five Nebraska cities for people interested in pursuing doctoral degrees in nursing.

Representatives will be on hand to talk about the doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) and doctor of nursing practice degrees (D.N.P.). A Ph.D. prepares individuals for leadership roles in research, education, practice, health policy and administration. The D.N.P. is the highest practice-focused degree in nursing, designed to prepare experts in specialized advanced practice nursing.

Sessions also will include how to select the right degree, how to finance a degree and how to juggle life as a student.
