Vice President Biden’s remarks broadcast Wednesday

On June 29, Vice President Joe Biden has asked individuals and organizations — including the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, Inc. and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society — to come together with the cancer community to support the efforts to double the rate of progress toward a cure.

Vice President Biden’s remarks on this effort, called the “Cancer Moonshot,” will be broadcast during an event from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday to be held in the Linder Reading Room of the Sorrell Center on UNMC’s Omaha campus.

The vice president’s remarks will be broadcast at 1:30 p.m. and will be followed by discussions. Kenneth Cowan, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, will speak at 1:15 to open the event.

Light refreshments will be served. Space is limited to the first 50 attendees. Please RSVP via the Fred & Pamela Buffett Center’s Cancer Moonshot Facebook page.
