Judy Wilcox, a member of the Chancellor’s Board of Counselors, UNMC’s statewide citizen advisory group, recently organized a campus tour for a dozen of her fellow community leaders and volunteers.
The group, longtime friends, had lunch with UNMC leadership, including Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D. They moved on to a staphylococcal research tour led by Ken Bayles, Ph.D., associate vice chancellor for basic science research. Ken Cowan, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, then led a presentation and tour of the cancer center.
As a member of the Board of Counselors, Wilcox never tires of touting the med center. “Every time I come here I am blown away,” she said.
The group included fellow member of the Board of Counselors Barb Bartle.
