As construction wraps up on the Orange Parking structure (Lot 1), located just east of Clarkson Tower at the Nebraska Medical Center, the main entrance to the building will be closed during final repairs.

The project, which began in April, includes new stairwells, lighting and other safety improvements.

Beginning Sept. 21, the majority of people arriving at Clarkson Tower, including colleagues, patients and visitors, will enter through the Hixon-Lied doors, past the Healing Hands statue and to the south of the current entrance.

Patients who utilize valet services or who are dropped off at Lot 1 will use a new driveway to enter the parking lot and will access the hospital through a temporary entrance to the north of the building. See the map below for more information.

Volunteers and greeters will help assist patients who use the temporary entrances to ensure they reach their destinations. Third-party security services also will be utilized during off-hours.

Communication to patients regarding the construction and resulting parking changes is being delivered through NebraskaMed.com, Patient Access Services, the Medical Call Center and One Chart | Patient. Those who work directly with patients impacted by the construction should encourage them to use valet services or park in Yellow Parking (Lot 5). This flyer is also available as a resource for patient communication.
