Nebraska Medicine offers executive physicals

Nebraska Medicine works with many large and small companies as well as individuals to provide an extensive physical that goes above and beyond what a person would normally receive from their primary care physician.

Many companies use this as a perk for their executives, but also to make sure executives are on track with their health, said Megan Addy, corporate engagement liaison for Nebraska Medicine.

Addy said some of Nebraska Medicine’s corporate clients for executive physicals include Kiewit Corporation, Baxter Auto Group, Union Pacific Corporation and Valmont Industries. The program is not covered by insurance.

The executive physical includes:

  • Full medical history review;
  • Complete physical exam with a physician;
  • Comprehensive blood testing;
  • Cardiovascular screening package (EKG; stress test/stress echo as needed; vascular screening);
  • Hearing assessment;
  • Urinalysis;
  • Health risk assessment and health coaching for optimal health;
  • Flu Shot;
  • PSA-prostate specific antigen (males only);
  • Mammogram and Pap Smear (females only);
  • Sleep Apnea screening;
  • Pulmonary function test;
  • Mental health screening;
  • Bone density scan;
  • Fitness assessment; and
  • Chest X-ray.

One of the unique aspects of the Nebraska Medicine program is that nurses serve as certified health coaches. They are with the executives throughout the entire visit, and they follow up with patients quarterly to make sure executives are staying on track with their health.

Nebraska Medicine also has nurse concierge services on staff, Addy said. If an executive is ever admitted to Nebraska Medicine, a nurse concierge will be there to make sure everything is taken care of during the executive’s stay.

Patients can choose from a list of male and female physicians during their visit.
