CVS offering free heart health screenings

As part of CVS Health’s “Go Red for Women” health initiative, the pharmacy chain will be offering no-cost heart health screenings at locations every Thursday in February on a first-come, first-served basis to anyone (male or female) 18 years old and over.

The screening will consist of five personal health numbers that can help determine a member’s risk for heart disease:

  • Total cholesterol;
  • HDL (good) cholesterol;
  • Blood pressure;
  • Blood sugar; and
  • Body mass index.

UNMC students, faculty and staff can find a voucher and more information, including the closest Minute Clinic location, at this website.

UNMC’s pharmacy coverage is provided by CVS Health.

Members are encouraged to download the voucher before their visit, but they will not be turned away at the clinic if they do not have it with them. The offer is available to all people (including men) across the country, regardless of their insurance. Also, the voucher isn’t specific to one member. It can be downloaded and distributed.
