Davis Global Center dedication ceremony postponed

The April 21 dedication ceremony for the Dr. Edwin G. & Dorothy Balbach Davis Global Center, and other celebratory events occurring that week (April 20-24) will be postponed as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Davis Global Center is headquarters for iEXCEL as well as the Global Center for Health Security, which also houses the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Training, Simulation & Quarantine Center (TSQC).

“We felt that postponing the dedication events was necessary to ensure that we are taking part in helping mitigate the spread of the coronavirus,” said Pam Boyers, Ph.D., associate vice chancellor for iEXCEL. “We look forward to rescheduling the Davis Global Center dedication ceremonies at a later time when it is safer for our medical center family, donors and industry, military and international partners to gather together. This also gives us time to focus on providing highly necessary simulation training and visualization module development to support our health care providers.”

As home to iEXCEL, the Davis Global Center features advanced visual and simulation technologies that support the creation of a transformational model for health care education.
