College receives large PPE donation

In June, the College of Dentistry was extremely fortunate to receive a large emergency supply of PPE from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). At a time when acquiring PPE was exceedingly difficult, these materials greatly helped the college create the safest environment possible for our patients, students, faculty and staff when we resumed direct patient care.

The shipment included 5,775 pairs of booties, 3,480 gowns, 10,360 N95s, 54 gallons of hand sanitizer, 10,000 face shields, 40,200 nonmed masks, 6,500 bouffant caps, and 4,000 gloves.

We’d like to thank the Nebraska National Guard members who kindly delivered the PPE shipment directly to the college. They worked countless hours from April to July to pack and distribute PPE supplies to almost 40 communities across the state. We also thank Dr. Charles F. Craft, the State Dental Director, for helping to coordinate this valuable support. We greatly appreciate the relationship between the College of Dentistry and the Office of Oral Health and Dentistry as we continue to work together to improve the oral health of the people of Nebraska.
