As holiday events get started, UNMC’s community partners have all kinds of plans to greet the season.

Join The Durham Museum today (Nov. 14) as it harvests this year’s Christmas Tree. Follow along throughout the morning on The Durham Museum’s Facebook and Instagram for updates and livestreams of the process.

On Thanksgiving night, gather the family on the couch and tune into The Durham’s website to watch the 40-foot-tall Christmas Tree come aglow for the holiday season. This 30-minute program features musical performances by the University of Nebraska at Omaha Concert Choir, Enjoli & Timeless, a greeting from Santa and the countdown to the lighting of the region’s largest indoor Christmas tree.

Christmas at Union Station starts No. 25 and runs through Jan. 8.

UNMC employees, students and their immediate family receive free museum admission with a valid identification badge. There will be several holiday events geared to the entire family.

The Omaha Symphony is offering a discount to members of the UNMC community to its 2022-2023 season, which includes “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in Concert.” The promotional code “UNMC23” offers a 20% discount. The discount is valid for available seats in price levels two through four only.

In addition to events at The Durham Museum and shows at the Omaha Symphony, check out the holiday happenings at Fontenelle Forest, Lauritzen Gardens, the Omaha Children’s Museum and more.

For a full list of holiday events and activities, see this listing of events. Please note: Not all events offer a UNMC discount.
