Campus winter coat drive runs through Dec. 15

UNMC’s Fostering the Future student group is sponsoring a campus winter coat drive to benefit Youth Mart, which supports young adults aging out of the foster care system.

Youth Mart, a program through the local nonprofit Partnership 4 Hope, is a donation center for young adults 25 and under who have aged out of foster care, offering free clothes and furniture.

Through Dec. 15, Fostering the Future will collect all sizes of coats, new and used in good condition. Blue collection bins will be placed in:

  • The family medicine clinic in the Durham Outpatient Center
  • Sorrell Center second floor commons
  • UNMC College of Pharmacy second floor common area
  • UNMC Center for Nursing Sciences third floor atrium

Fostering the Future is a student-led, interprofessional service-learning initiative dedicated to promoting resources and solutions to address the health challenges at-risk youth face in the Omaha metropolitan area.
