Nebraska Nurse Honor Guard pays respects to patient, former nurse

Joined by Nebraska Medicine colleagues, the Nebraska Nurse Honor Guard follows a patient and former nurse from the medical-intensive care unit to the operating room at the end of her life as she donates life to others.

Oh my goodness. How does one develop a nursing honor guard for this purpose. Such a beautiful thing.

We were privileged to witness the honor guard tribute at our friend’s funeral. It is quite a moving ceremoney……it gave me the same chills as when we witnessed a fireman’s final call ceremony. A tribute well done, Nurse’s Honor Guard!!!
