Educational Support Grants now are available to UNMC College of Medicine faculty members.

The grants are awarded to support the implementation of innovative educational programs, said Kari Nelson, PhD, director of undergraduate medical education. Funding from the grant is available from June 2024 to the end of June 2025.

Applications are awarded based on the benefit to the greatest number of students in a medical degree program (including medical students and residents), the faculty member and the college of medicine. There is a $5,000 limit for each grant.

Examples of past grants awarded include:

  • Purchase of sustainable equipment for clinical education.
  • Development of innovative or improved educational programs/courses/training delivery mechanisms.
  • Projects aimed to improve access to quality health care for all.

Apply here. Applications currently are open and will close April 5, 2024.

At the end of the grant cycle, Dean Bradley Britigan, MD, will require a summary letter of the project and its outcomes.
