Denim for Disabilities fundraiser starts today

The Meyer Foundation for Disabilities’ Denim for Disabilities fundraiser is underway, starting today and running through Feb. 13.

The fundraiser allows UNMC employees to wear jeans to work if they’ve received their supervisor’s approval. Proceeds support recreational therapy programs for adults with disabilities at the Munroe-Meyer Institute.

People interested in participating should ask their supervisor for the go-ahead; jeans are not allowed in many areas because of dress codes.

Participants can coordinate a fundraising drive for any area or department. Email event coordinator Carly DeBruin at MMI or call 402-559-5777 for questions about donations, participation stickers and packets.

Each day with jeans costs $1, and participants get a sticker for the day to wear in support. The fundraiser runs for 20 work days if someone is interested in offering a $20 donation to the Meyer Foundation for Disabilities.

For employees working from home who want to contribute, donations are accepted through the Meyer Foundation for Disabilities website.
