Reminder: Breakthrough Thinking on tech transfer is today

Tech transfer and commercialization will be the focus of the latest Breakthrough Thinking session today (Jan. 22).

The sessions – open to all faculty, staff and students – are designed to challenge and inspire out-of-the-box thinking. Today’s presentation will be from noon to 1 p.m. CT via Zoom and feature Karin Immergluck, PhD, associate vice provost leading the Office of Technology Licensing at Stanford University.

She will discuss “Growing an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: Technology Commercialization at Stanford.”

The Office of Technology Licensing comprises an internationally renowned team of professionals responsible for managing all aspects of Stanford’s intellectual property portfolio, including IP protection, marketing and business development, industry research contracting, strategic alliance management and licensing to new Stanford startups as well as established companies.

Prior to joining Stanford five years ago, Dr. Immergluck spent 17 years working in technology transfer within the University of California system, ultimately leading the UCSF Office of Technology Management as executive director. Dr. Immergluck also is an active participant in TenU, a trans-Atlantic tech transfer consortium, and serves as a non-executive board member of two foreign academic technology transfer entities.
