Omaha Performing Arts offers discount to UNMC

Omaha Performing Arts is offering discounts on tickets to UNMC students and employees for select shows through March.

Discounts are available for the following:

  • “Beetlejuice,” Feb. 2-4. Save 10% on price levels two and three for weeknight and Sunday evening performances, plus, reduced handling fees for all price levels. Based on Tim Burton’s film, the musical tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes.
  • Black Violin, Feb. 13. Save 10% on all price levels and reduced handling fees with promo code. For nearly two decades, Black Violin has been merging string arrangements with modern beats and vocals and building bridges in communities along the way. Winners of Showtime at the Apollo in 2005, it has sold out headline performances at venues across the country. NPR declared the music “will keep classical music alive for the next generation.” Their 2019 album release, Take the Stairs, earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album.
  • “Johnny Cash – the Official Concert Experience,” Feb. 13. Save 10% on all price levels and reduced handling fees. “Johnny Cash – the Official Concert Experience” brings songs and stories from the Man in Black to the stage in a way that audiences haven’t seen or heard before. With video from episodes of The Johnny Cash TV Show, a live band and singers accompanies him in perfect sync. Cash will perform some of his biggest hits and share stories of people he met along the way whose causes he championed. Plus, onstage male and female singers will split vocal duties performing their own takes on Cash hits.
  • Disney’s “The Lion King,” Feb. 29-March 24. Save 10% on price levels two and three for weeknight and Sunday evening performances, plus reduced handling fees for all price levels and performances. More than 100 million people have experienced the phenomenon of Disney’s “The Lion King,” and now the beloved musical returns to the Orpheum. Winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, this landmark musical brings together one of the most imaginative creative teams on Broadway. Tony Award-winning director Julie Taymor brings to life a story filled with hope and adventure set against a backdrop of stunning visuals. “The Lion King” also features some of Broadway’s most recognizable music, crafted by Tony Award-winning artists Elton John and Tim Rice.
