The Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society held its induction ceremony in April. It was the 110th induction for the University of Nebraska Alpha Omega Alpha Chapter.
Prior to an evening banquet on April 25, UNMC alum and nationally recognized leader in medical education Lynne Kirk, MD, of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, gave a noon presentation on “Professionalism and Physician Well-Being.”
Nate Anderson, MD, chair of the medical student selection committee, congratulated the new inductees and this year’s award winners.
“AOA is the pinnacle of academic and professional achievement in medicine, embodying excellence and a commitment to scholarship, leadership, professionalism, service, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
“As a clerkship director, I have the opportunity to work with each and every one of these wonderful students, and it is always humbling to review their CVs, awards, and all of their inspiring accomplishments,” he said. “It is a true honor and privilege to recognize these dedicated students for their hard work and induction into this prestigious honorary society.”
