Leadership Nebraska tours UNMC

Thirty-five members of Leadership Nebraska traveled to Omaha in November to tour UNMC.

Leadership Nebraska is a program designed for current and future Nebraska leaders to view the economic and political challenges and opportunities that face that state. It was created by the Nebraska Chamber.

Tara Lea of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce led the trip, which featured a stop at the iEXCEL Program in the Davis Global Center and meetings with several UNMC leaders.

“A lot of people don’t realize everything that happens inside this building,” she said. “It’s amazing to show off all the technology and other things going on here. The medical field is huge for communities across the state, and we always want to learn a little bit more about the medical field.

“The medical center is one of the most important businesses in our state. We want to make sure people are aware of what’s going on here and what we have right here in Nebraska.”
