Lauren (Crockett) McGill, MD, is a new resident physician with the UNMC Department of Anesthesiology.
Medical School: UNMC
Why did you choose the medical field? The medical field and the human body always fascinated me from a young age. As I got older, I saw the tremendous impact health care providers have on not just patients but their families, even in very tough circumstances.
What made you choose anesthesiology? I enjoy the fast-paced critical thinking anesthesiology requires, and I like building meaningful connections with my patients during the critical moments in their lives.
List three accomplishments you are proud of:
- Matching into an amazing field at a great program.
- I’m a proud auntie to three amazing girls.
- I recently completed a medical Spanish course to build on my existing Spanish skills.
Three things about you that others may not know:
- I rescued a mini dachshund named Hazel this spring and love dogs – I’d love to see pics of everyone’s pets.
- I love baking and make my own sourdough.
- Everyone always asks if I am related to Davy Crockett – I am.
