Are you curious about what causes GERD and swallowing issues and how to treat them? At a free, in-person learning session on Tuesday, May 20, Nebraska Medicine surgeons Ivy Haskins, MD, and Vishal Kothari, MD, will explain:
- What causes GERD (acid reflux) and swallowing problems.
- How to tell if your symptoms need medical attention.
- Steps you can take to help reduce symptoms.
- When medication, surgery or other treatments might be needed.
Dr. Haskins, who is co-director of Nebraska Medicine’s Esophageal Swallowing Center, is an associate professor in the UNMC Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery, MIS and Bariatric Surgery.
Dr. Kothari is an associate professor in the UNMC Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery, MIS and Bariatric Surgery.
The discussion, which starts at 5:30 p.m., will be held at the Lauritzen Outpatient Center, 4014 Leavenworth St., in the level four auditorium.
