Campus Engagement holding UNMC Day at the Zoo

As UNMC’s fall semester gets underway, UNMC Campus Engagement is offering students and staff a chance for a free adult admission ticket to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium.

UNMC Campus Engagement helps ensure that every member of UNMC’s academic health community feels empowered to thrive, said Sheritta Strong, MD, UNMC’s assistant vice chancellor of campus engagement at UNMC.

The campus engagement office wants students and staff to start the semester engaged, connected and inspired, Dr. Strong said.

A select number of tickets are available for Saturday, Sept. 20, at the zoo.

UNMC employees and students can sign up here for a drawing to receive one free adult admission ticket. Sign up by the end of the day on Sept. 12 at this link.

A total of 45 winners will be drawn at random and notified via email. One entry is accepted per person, and one ticket will be given out to selected recipients while supplies last. Recipients must be UNMC employees or students. Regular tickets are required for other guests to attend, and UNMC employees with annual zoo passes are encouraged to attend for the day.

Guests are encouraged to wear UNMC gear for the day at the zoo, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and snap a photo to share the experience with UNMC Campus Engagement. UNMC guests can meet at the entrance near the Desert Dome at 1 p.m. for a group photo.

UNMC Campus Engagement is here to help students and staff connect, collaborate and grow, Dr. Strong said.

“Campus Engagement fosters a campus culture where every individual feels valued and connected,” Dr. Strong said. “Through welcoming engagement, strategic collaboration and thoughtful programming, the team strengthens campus engagement – and supports UNMC’s mission of education, research and care.”
