IPID program welcomes new graduate students

The Immunology, Pathology & Infectious Disease (IPID) program hosted by UNMC’s Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology added six graduate students for 2025-2026.

The program, part of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences, offers opportunities for graduate study in a wide range of contemporary areas of pathology and microbiology, including bacteriology, immunology, virology, cell biology, and molecular biology. Students can work toward an MS, PhD, or combined MD/PhD degree.

The new MS students are:

  • Gabriel Tonucci, BS. Advisor: Rakesh Singh, PhD; education: Miami University, Oxford, OH
  • Chenyang Wang, MS. Advisor: Jian Xie, PhD; education: Guangzhou Medical College, China; Hubei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine
