UNMC College of Dentistry attends Harvest Moon Festival

Faculty and student volunteers from the UNMC College of Dentistry attended the Harvest Moon Festival, held at the Antelope Park bandshell in Lincoln on Oct. 5.

Dental student Payton Alber, who volunteered at the Asian Community and Cultural Center’s event, said this type of community engagement was important.

“It’s said that one of the hardest parts of dentistry is getting the patients in your front door,” Alber said. “These community events allow us to start education on how to best take care of your teeth while at home.”

Alber and classmate Erin Alexander used models of teeth to show children the proper way to brush – “and that can make the difference in the future of a patient’s teeth,” she said.
