Maintenance planned for access control system

The UNMC Department of Police and Public Safety will be upgrading the enterprise access control system on Wednesday, Nov. 12, starting at 9 a.m.

Once maintenance begins, door access will work normally, but in-office panic alarms will be offline.

The system is used across the UNMC Omaha campus and the entire Nebraska Medicine enterprise, including the Bellevue Medical Center and clinical locations in Kearney and Grand Island.

The Photo ID badge office also will be closed on Nov. 12.

A computer-crawl alert and Voalte message will be sent once the maintenance begins, and colleagues should begin using the downtime procedures for panic alarms – to call dispatch for emergencies at 402-559-5111.

When the maintenance work is complete, another computer-crawl alert and Voalte message will be sent to the campus community to confirm that panic alarms are back online, allowing colleagues to resume normal procedures.
