Traci Clemons, who has served more than 30 years at UNMC across numerous research and compliance offices, is retiring on Jan. 5.
Clemons most recently has served as IACUC administrator with the UNMC Office of Animal Care and Use/Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.
Throughout her career, Clemons has made contributions across multiple departments and roles: comparative medicine, the department of pharmacology and experimental neuroscience, the UNMC Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, the office of regulatory affairs and finally animal care.
Her colleagues commended Clemons’ professionalism, compassion and unwavering commitment to excellence.
“Traci leaves a trail of excellence, collaboration and commitment to advancing research and especially compliance,” said Rebecca Bogatz, a colleague and fellow IACUC administrator. “Whether mentoring new staff, guiding researchers through complex processes or simply sharing a kind word in the hallway, Traci has built bridges and fostered community.
“Her laughter, wisdom, and generosity have left an imprint on me and so many others, that will last long after retirement.
Said Bogatz: “Please join us in congratulating Traci on a truly extraordinary career — and in sending her and her husband Bart off with all the warmth and appreciation they deserve.”
