Even ‘superheroes’ need a break

The "Superheroes Among Us" event drew 270 people in attendance.

UNMC Human Resources held an Employee Appreciation Day celebration of UNMC’s “superheroes” on Thursday, March 5, with 270 people attending.

Held at the Truhlsen Campus Events Center, the “Superheroes Among Us” celebration offered a free lunch and drinks, popcorn, an interactive trivia contest and a 360-degree photobooth. An online drawing also had 20 winners.

Employees who attended are invited to take this follow up survey from UNMC Human Resources.

Co-workers Michelle Hawkins and Mary Wood from the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions’ physical therapy education program enjoyed the photobooth.

“It was fun,” Wood said. “I’ve never done anything like it.”

Hawkins said it was nice of UNMC to provide the event.

Dinah Clark, who works in radiation oncology, said it was great to see so many people at the event. “It’s been fun – very exciting.”
