Brake for Breakfast returns on April 24

Don’t snooze on your screenings. Brake for Breakfast will take place from 7 to 9 a.m. on Friday, April 24, at 10 different event sites throughout Nebraska.

This drive-thru event is free to the public thanks to the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, Nebraska’s only NCI-designated cancer center, in partnership with Nebraska Extension and community partners statewide.

The goal of the event is to increase awareness around cancer prevention and the importance of early detection.

Drivers simply pull up to drive-thru stations to receive a free breakfast along with easy-to-understand information about who should get cancer screenings, when to get screened and how to schedule those screenings in their area. They’ll also learn simple, actionable ways to lower their risk for cancer through healthy lifestyle choices and preventive care.

Drive through one of the following locations across Nebraska:

  • Omaha: Home for Boys – 4343 N. 52nd St., Omaha
  • Kearney: Nebraska Medicine | Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center – 2232 Chancellors Ave, Kearney
