The Midwest Clinical Instruction Regional Network, a HRSA grant-funded project within the UNMC College of Nursing, will host a workshop to strengthen skills for precepting nurses.
“Process Precept: Need to Know Skills Update” is scheduled for June 2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the UNMC College of Nursing-Omaha Division, 4111 Dewey Ave. All precepting nurses are invited to attend and will receive six contact hours.
The schedule includes four sessions that touch on various basic preceptor skills, including preceptor roles, interprofessional identity, teaching and coaching tools, action-oriented feedback, communication strategies and more. The workshop is a prerequisite for the MCIRN’s “Advanced Preceptor Fellowship.”
